1. Who we are
Gimhani Tours provides private guided tours and transport in Sri Lanka using our own Nissan Clipper mini van, driven by a licensed local guide. You can reach us on WhatsApp at +94 77 126 3614 or by email at nadunjt@gmail.com.
2. What this website does
This site is information and enquiry only. It takes no payment, creates no accounts and stores nothing about you on a server. The booking, review and contact forms simply compose a message and hand it to WhatsApp or your email program. Nothing is sent until you press send in that app, and you can edit or discard the message at that point.
3. Bookings and confirmation
- Submitting a form is an enquiry, not a booking. A trip is confirmed only when we reply and agree the dates, route and price with you directly.
- Prices are quoted per trip based on the route, the number of days and the number of travellers. We will give you a full figure before you commit, and we will not add charges to it afterwards.
- Unless we have said otherwise in writing, a quote covers the vehicle, fuel and your driver-guide. Entrance fees to sites and parks, safari jeeps, meals and accommodation are not included, so you stay free to choose what you visit and where you stay.
- We do not ask for a deposit to hold a date.
4. Payment
Payment is made in cash directly to your guide, in Sri Lankan rupees or in major currencies. We do not process card payments and will never ask you for card details, bank details or a transfer through this website or over WhatsApp. If you receive such a request claiming to be from us, it is not from us. Please tell us.
5. Changes and cancellation
- You may cancel at any time at no charge. Please tell us as early as you can so the day can be offered to someone else.
- Itineraries can be changed during the trip. Plans shift while travelling and we would rather adapt than hold you to a schedule that no longer suits you.
- We may have to alter or cancel a trip for reasons outside our control, including weather, flooding, road closures, vehicle breakdown, illness or instructions from the authorities. If that happens we will do our best to arrange an alternative, and you will not be charged for a service you did not receive.
6. Your responsibilities
- Wear a seat belt and follow reasonable safety instructions from your guide.
- Bring valid travel documents and any visa you require. We cannot advise on immigration and are not responsible for entry being refused.
- Tell us before the trip about medical conditions, mobility needs, allergies or the ages of any children travelling, so seating and pacing can be arranged properly.
- Respect religious sites, wildlife and local customs. Your guide will tell you what is expected at each place.
- Alcohol and illegal substances are not permitted in the vehicle. We may end a trip without refund if a passenger's behaviour puts anyone at risk.
7. Luggage and belongings
The van is a compact vehicle. Please tell us how many bags you have when you enquire so we can confirm it will fit comfortably. Your belongings remain your responsibility, and we recommend you do not leave valuables unattended in the vehicle.
8. Insurance
The vehicle carries the insurance required by Sri Lankan law. That cover is not a substitute for personal travel insurance. We strongly recommend you travel with your own policy covering medical treatment, repatriation, cancellation and your possessions.
9. Limits of our responsibility
We are responsible for providing the transport and guiding service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for third parties you engage separately, such as hotels, safari operators, restaurants, boat trips or site operators, nor for loss, delay or injury caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Sri Lankan law.
10. Photographs and reviews
We sometimes ask whether we may use a photograph from your trip on this website or our Facebook page. We only publish photographs and reviews where the traveller has agreed. If you have changed your mind about something of yours that appears here, message us and we will remove it. How review information is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.
11. Website content
Photographs, text and design on this site belong to Gimhani Tours and may not be reused commercially without permission. Descriptions of destinations, travel times and seasons are given in good faith as general guidance and can change.
12. Links to other sites
This site links to WhatsApp and Facebook. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first. Most things are quicker to resolve with a message than with a complaint.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the service changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and the terms that apply to your trip are the ones published when we confirmed it.
